Northaw PTA

pta@northaw.herts.sch.uk

We are a friendly and welcoming group of parents and teachers whose aims are to raise additional funds for the school.  Although well funded, Northaw, like most schools, needs additional help financially to enhance our children’s education and give them the best start in life.  We meet regularly to discuss the planning of events and to share ideas on any new events.

If you are interested in participating in PTA events in any way big or small, please contact the school office for more information about upcoming events.

If you have any ideas for future events, please contact the school office.

If you would like to run an event to support your school, please let us know!

SUMMER 2017

We wanted to bring to your attention, the wonderful things that, through your support, your PTA has provided for the benefit of your children and our lovely school in the last 3 years:
£2,500 bought I-Pads (used daily by the children).
£500 annually spent on coaches for children to attend Christmas panto.
£1,500 school hall projector
£1,000  new library books.
£1,000 new flooring for the acorns.
£1,100  newly purchased data loggers for  children's ICT department.

These are the big items, however there is a continuous list of things that we assist with, and an endless target to enrich our children's school life and education.

We thank you for your continued support, and wanted to share the importance of  your contribution and help.

As always, we aim to bring our  school community together for enjoyable events all the while, raising much needed cash, in the never ending government cuts in our schools.

Lastly, may we remind you to return your money filled Smartie tubes and Raffle ticket stubs and money as soon as possible.

March 2017

We enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day afternoon tea on Thursday after school. The PTA worked hard in arranging the gifts that every child had produced. We were delighted that so many of you could attend. Your generous donations amounted to nearly £200 which will ultimately go towards new equipment for the school.

March 2017

Please fill in the PTA Questionnaires that have been sent home so that we can plan some great events for 2017!

November 2016

Our Christmas event will take place on Wednesday 14th December 2016 after school, where there will be a Santa’s Grotto and refreshments. You will also be able to purchase your children’s handmade crafts.

The PTA are looking to do a Christmas feature within the school with a photograph of every child. Can you please bring in a photograph of your child (approx 5' x 7') with their name on the back.

September 2016

The PTA are putting on a quiz night on Friday October 21st at Old Owens sports ground.

Tickets are £10 per person including a hot meal in the interval. Doors open at 7.30pm  and the quiz will start between 8-8.30. Bar shuts at 12.

This will be a good opportunity for parents to get together and for any new parents to meet everyone – it should also raise some money for our children's’ school.

Teams can be up to a maximum of 8 people but don't be put off if you cannot get a whole team together as we can group you on the night.

For tickets please see Gemma Birchell in the playground from next Monday. Alternatively you can leave an envelope in the school office clearly marked "PTA QUIZ" with YOUR NAME and PHONE NUMBER, enclosing the correct amount of cash or a  cheque made payable to Northaw School PTA.

We hope you can make it.
