Heatwave

With our Jubilee Jamboree, celebrating 175 years, on Friday, I had hoped temperatures would cool sufficiently by then to let us go ahead with everything as planned. Unfortunately, this no longer seems likely, and I have decided to extend the following until 26 June:

  • Pupils should wear light-coloured, loose-fitting, comfortable clothing - school uniform need not be worn.

  • Sunhats with wide brims to avoid sunburn are recommended.

  • Sandals are permitted; flip-flops are not advisable.

  • Just cold lunches will be served.

  • School will close on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 1.15, following registration. Any child who cannot be collected at this time will be supervised in Apples & Pears, where there is air-conditioning; please email (admin@northaw.herts.sch.uk) if you anticipate difficulties.

We will, therefore, postpone our gallery, when parents and carers can view and purchase the children's individual commemorative artwork with refreshments provided by the PTA, until immediately after school on Thursday 2 July.

The school day, catering arrangements and uniform expectations will return to normal on 29 June.
