PE

In PE, we have been  focusing on exploring and developing fundamental movement skills: Locomotor (travelling); Manipulative (object control); and Stability (balance).

Maths

In year 1, we have been working on our number bonds to 10 and using cubes to help us.

In year 2, we have been working on our number bonds to 100 and using dienes to help us.

Phonics

In year 1 we have been working on the ar grapheme and the u-e grapheme that makes both the long oo and the long U sound.

In year 2 we have been working on two rules for adding suffixes: the ‘drop e’ rule and the ‘double consonant’ rule.

English

In English, we have been learning about the difference between fiction and non-fiction books. The children did a cut and stick activity to put the information in the right column.

Science

In Science, we have been learning about minibeasts. We went on a minibeast hunt and found loads of worms and a frog!

DT

In DT, we have been making cars. We started off by putting the wheels on the axles and in the next lesson we fitted our chassis onto our cars.
