Non-School Uniform Day & Hello Yellow
We have our first Non-School Uniform Day on Friday. Obviously, this means children do not have to wear school uniform that day; however, the usual expectations regarding jewellery, make-up and nail varnish still apply. (Those children in Oak playing rugby should arrive at the event dressed normally for PE as they will be representing us - they can bring non-school uniform to change in to when they return.) The purpose of this event is to raise money for our chosen charity (WWF), and we suggest a donation of £1 which can be either handed to an adult in class or at the office - this is not, of course, obligatory.
Monday 10 October is World Mental Health Day when we come together to say, Hello Yellow. Although children should wear school uniform, they are welcome to incorporate something yellow (e.g. hairband, hoodie, socks, t-shirt) as we raise awareness of young people's mental health. There will also be an opportunity in class to reflect on the importance of this issue.
